Time flies...

It's been almost a month since I've last posted something, so now I feel guilty and will catch you up on a few things around the Goudge household.

Katie started her new school on January 24th. It has been a transition for her going from Tuacahn that has s total of 250 students, to a school with well over 3000 students! She is enjoying it though. She is thrilled cuz she is taking driver's ed this semester. Orie and I are cringing at the thought of her driving here in Vegas...now is when I wished I lived back home in Wisconsin out in the country where there isn't 6 to 8 lanes of traffic. Katie is also taking theatre and the other basic classes at Centennial High School.

Orie is working at Shift 4 and doing great. He loves his job. Since the company moved to its new location, it's just down the road 10 minutes so he doesn't have far to go and traffic isn't all that bad either. He's working 7 - 3:30 Monday - Friday. It's really nice having him home early.

Me? I'm still looking for employment. I've had a few interviews here, which all have said we will get back with you. So, praying God will provide there for that. Other than that, I've been doing some crafts again, sewing and scrapping to make the days go by faster.

Orie and Katie are involved in our church's Easter Play. Orie is playing Simon the Zealot and Katie is a dancer and one of the town's people - both had a few lines. They have been busy going to rehearsals every Tuesday and Thursday nights from now until Easter. I am excited for them, as they both are stepping out of their comfort levels to do this. Me? I'm one of their biggest supporters!

The puppies are doing well. Buddie is getting older and spends his days sleeping on his california king sized dog bed, while Sadie is always at my side.

Have a blessed day!

Doing the Vegas Thing

A couple of weeks ago, Orie took me out on a date. We went to the Red Rock Casino for dinner then drove towntown to the Belligio to see walk around the botanical gardens and then we watched two different programs of the dancing waters outside the Belligio. What an amazing night! It is still hard to believe that all of this is in our backyard.
This is gorgeous at night!
Inside the botanical gardens....

More of the dancing waters

Looks like a postcard!

Oh how I love this man.

Beautiful

Inside Belligio notice the ceiling.....

Close up of the lights on the ceiling.

He's soo amazing!

This boat is actually sitting in water.

The baby rabbits playing in the field.

Mama Chia Pet Rabbit that stood 15 feet tall...watching her babies play.

Look at all of the gold under this guys feet.
We had an amazing night. Looking forward to our next adventure.

Snow? Las Vegas?

Well, yesterday am I woke up and it was just starting to snow. Went in and took a shower and it was really coming down. Turned the news on and schools were closed, and there were numerous accidents in and around town. So, decided to grab the camera and snap a few pictures. It snowed pretty much most of the morning then by afternoon it stopped. I'm not quite sure how much snow we got, but Sadie enjoyed going out in it and jumping around like the crazy dog that she is....

Christmas 2010

Chestnuts roasting my and open fire. Jack Frost nipping at your nose...well it's the Las Vegas way to have a nice roaring fire without the heat! Orie found a loop of youtube and that's what we read the Christmas story and opened out gifts. Santa was good to us.

My little family. This year we chose to just stay in Las Vegas and enjoy the newness of family. It was a really good time. Went to the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at church, came home and had dinner, read the Christmas story and opened gifts.

Of course we were all on the floor and Sadie and Buddie had to jump into the action...That doesn't happen very often.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Have a BLESSED 2011

And just when you thought Thanksgiving would never come!

This past Saturday night, Orie, Katie and I drug out all of the Christmas stuff and turned on the Christmas music on the tv and got busy. We set up the Christmas tree, put the lights on. Okay, so, I thought I'd start the lights at the top and work my way down. Four strands of lights later we're at the bottom of the tree and Orie went to plug the tree in and he attempted to use the female end of the lights in the socket. Okay, give the lady a break here! Soooooooo, Orie unwrapped the lights off of the tree to the very last strand and he found my mistake. We had to redo putting the lights on. The tree turned out gorgeous.

After decorating the tree, we proceeded to go outside, and decorate the door, the railings up the stairs, the master bedroom, the master bathroom, Katie's bathroom and the living room. Awww it looks so festive around here.

Once all of that was done, Katie and I sat down and made Christmas cookies. We made peanut butter kiss cookies, haystacks, sugar cookies and candy cane candy. We are going to be making more this weekend too. Nothing is better than the house smelling like baking sugar cookies and other goodies.

Here are a few pictures from around the house.

Here is the corner of the master bedroom, see even the bears get in the festive mood.

Here is one side of the tree closest to the kitchen. Mr. Snowman is guarding the tree and presents.

Buddie got into the act too!

Out on the porch the faces our stairs.

Here is the kitchen and dining room area.

How cute is that?!

My sampling of snowmen.

So there ya have it folks. I'll be posting more pictures later too.
God bless

Well....we're in Vegas

On Novmeber 19th we loaded up the UHaul with the help of wonderful friends from church. It was loaded in no time. It was loaded in there soo good that nothing shifted even in the ride down here. Spent Friday night at the Hopper's house cuz everything else was packed and ready to go. It was really nice spending time with their family and having a soft bed to sleep on instead of the hard floor in a sleeping bag. Saturday morning we headed out early and we got here to Vegas there were 4 guys from Calvary Chapel Lone Mountain waiting at the condo to help us with the unloading of the truck on a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon. Janeen, Orie's mom came down from Salt Lake City on Friday to help with all of the activities, because just a few days before that, I got my ug boot off. Dr said, my reinjury rate is really high the first 6-8 months. He also said to take it easy, meaning no heavy lifting, bending at the waist or long periods of walking or standing. Well, that kinda shoots the whole moving adventure to heck now doesn't it! lol Anyway, Janeen was amazing and so were all of the other helpful hands. Thank you!

The house is all decorated and company ready. The majority of the boxes are emptied or stored away. We're looking forward now for Christmas. Haven't gotten the tree up yet, hoping to do that this weekend.

Here is our new address if you didn't get it before.

If you're ever down our way, please stop by and say HI!

Pictures to come!

Getting closer to "M" day

The boxes are getting packed, the house is looking more bare and hallow and we're eating off of paper plates and plastic silverware. Just a couple of more days, till we start the new chapter in "The Goudge Chronicles." I am personally looking forward to the move, however, it's the packing of the lifetime of the past that is hard. So, if you get a minute on Friday or Saturday say a prayer for us as we start this new journey.

I will post pictures of the new condo and the move when our internet is up and running.

Here is our new address:
10620 W Alexander Road
Unite 240
Las Vegas, NV 89129

Our phone numbers will all remain the same.

Gotta get busy and pack.

Love you all,

Cyndi
